St. Gregory of Neocaesarea

"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move." - Jesus to the Apostles, Matthew 17:20. 

St. Gregory of Neocaesarea (also called St. Gregory the Wonder-Worker or St. Gregory Thaumaturgus) took this passage very literally. Through his prayers, and entire mountain was moved to make way for a church to be built!

St. Hildegard von Bingen

Hildegard von Bingen -- or Hildegard of Bingen, in English -- was a true Renaissance woman, which is a bit ironic since she lived a full two centuries before the Renaissance began. Her feast day is today, September 17. Saint Hildegard, now one of the only four women Doctors of the Catholic church, was gifted in art, cooking, herbology, music composition, writing, and medicine. She was given "visions" (though she experienced them in all five senses) and instructions from God throughout her life starting when she was three years old. St. Felix of Nola

When I was converting to the Catholic faith, St. Felix was one of the first saints I learned about. Mostly because, as a horror writer and bug lover, I was Googling things like "spookiest Catholic saints".  Nonetheless, the scant details of St. Felix's life are an inspiration today, and a lesson about facing our fears and trusting in God. And it's just cool that there's a patron saint of spiders.
